The Bonifay Police Department, Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, Graceville Police Department along with Alabama authorities are seeking information concerning recent criminal activity.  Local law enforcement believes that several recent incidents have been perpetrated by the same suspects.  One incident occurred on March 29th when a van was stolen from Home Oil in Graceville and then used as an instrument to steal the ATM from inside the Expresslane convenience store, also located in Graceville.  On May 7th a delivery truck from Bowen Hardware in Bonifay was stolen and used in the same manner to steal the ATM from Hamilton’s General Store at the intersection of State Road 2 and County Road 173.  The most recent incident was on May 11th when Cloud Auto Parts’ delivery truck was stolen from Bonifay and found by a passerby parked with the engine running on Dilmore Road in Jackson County.  The other vehicles were also found abandoned in the same manner, again all in Jackson County and all near US 231.  The Houston County (AL) Sheriff’s Office and Ashford (AL) Police Department are investigating an incident that occurred in Ashford on April 13th.  A short response time to glass breaking at the Inland gas station in Ashford led to a vehicle and later a foot pursuit of the suspects.  In this instance, a van was used that had been stolen from Burdeshaw Locksmith Company in Dothan.  However, the suspects evaded capture from both tracking dogs and a helicopter with infrared capability.

For information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglaries of the opposing football teams school buses that were broken into and several items were removed while parked at Memorial Field.
